Through Stormy Weather and Forest Fires

I will come for you

The threatening storms will defiantly touch down
the seas will experience the furies of the whirlwind
your boats will be tossed about ready to turn over
the creatures in the water will hide away horrified
in the midst of the dangers, you know I’ll come for you

The pipes in the skies may burst to pour heavy torrents
the rivers may overflow the banks and embankments
huge gullies may then be dug as waters cover the earth
the cars and trucks will stop and park off flooded roads
if I have to swim with no lifejackets, I will come for you

The land will be frozen and airplanes avoid the runways
the grasses will be buried by thick layers of glassy snow
the gasoline in the cars will be ice blocks waiting to thaw
the hibernating birds and animals will see a barren earth
in the frostbiting cold confetti and flakes, I’ll come for you

The bushfires will scare firemen to turn back their trucks
the charred parts of remnants will be the black background
the world will talk climate change and count the huge losses
in the news blackout with reporters calling from home studios
even without firehoses or protective gear, I will come for you

All the roads may be buried in gritty rumbles
the scorched earth may leave our feet in blisters
there may be a horde of wicked cannibals waiting
or an uncivil war roaring thro’ all parts of the land
poisonous viruses may spore to spread death in the air
I may have to walk alone through long pithy nights
whatever it may be, you know, I will come for you
