Thank You To Fourteen Republican Lawmakers And The Democrats Who Condemned Racism

They voted against racism targeting Asian Americans

Racism against Asian Americans escalated after COVID

Since the midterm elections are coming soon and some of the representatives will not be running for reelection, it is a good time to express gratitude once again to the lawmakers in Congress who voted to condemn racism.

It is a well known fact that racist rants and outright racism have been displayed against people of Asian backgrounds in the United States after the COVID pandemic came on the scene. With Trump and other Republicans of that time calling out and blaming China for the coronavirus, people listened. They expressed their anger toward Asian Americans who were totally innocent.

It was mainly a show of support for the Asian American community which was the target of the racism.

Thank you to Grace Meng and the Democrats who overwhelmingly supported the resolution. Thank you also to the fourteen Republicans who were honorable and brave enough to join the Democrats in showing that they were opposing racism. There were only fourteen.
