Horror Monster Design Perfection

I wanted to author an article about something I adore: horror monsters. I appreciate creative designs and as a monster erotica writer, I like paying homage to my roots. So without further ado, I’m gonna talk about movies you may or may not have seen. All spoilers are unmarked even though I’m not concentrating on plot or writing analysis in this article.

The Relic is a 1997 horror movie about a South American monster that gets loose in a Chicago museum. The monster is particularly problematic because it wants to eat people, and there’s a buffet in the museum when it gets loose.

Well, most people don’t like this movie. It has low scores in most places from a quick internet search. But we’re not here to talk about the script, the book it’s based on, or even the casting. We’re all about the big bad of this movie.

It’s a lizard-like creature that I call akin to the Magic: the Gathering creature, Godsire.

I personally just like its overall not quite a dragon or a werewolf or a demon design. It’s fun and the creature as some pretty cool abilities.

There are many fantastic creatures in this movie. I adore so much in Guillermo del Toro’s book of monsters and this film is no exception. He breathes life into so many cool things. Since we’re talking about the big bads, I think many familiar with the film already know who I placed on this list.

The pale man, of course. Eyes do not belong there is a trope for a reason. It’s bizarre and creepy. We look for faces, faces that look like ours. Body horror alone can make people shudder and nope out. We know all that! And he eats fairies! There is so much creepy and wrong about him. He’s not outright scary to look at, but instead he is unsettling to look at.
